Roland Zeller (*1969) is a serial-entrepreneur, business-angel and multi board member. The founder of www.travel.ch (OTA) is one of the pioneers in Swiss online travel and has shaped the tourism industry over two decades. For more than 12 years, Roland is investing in early-stage-startups. He typically invests in the very early days of a startup and is backing and mentoring the company and their founders until breakeven or trade-sale some years later. Among others, www.getyourguide.com (a platform for tours and activities), www.travelperk (online business travel) and www.viselio.com (online visas) are some of his best known first-round-investments. Beside the travel industry, Roland is an expert in online-marketing, e-commerce and online-marketplaces. Roland started his career with a classic education in a travel agency in Bern, followed by studies in economy in Zurich. He gained extensive tourism experience, during an internship in a hotel in Stockholm, Sweden and working some months on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean. Roland was born and raised in Bern, Switzerland. The father of two grown up kids lives near Zurich. He is fluent in German, English and French – and has basic knowledge of Spanish and Swedish. Apart from work, Roland enjoys flying old or rare aircraft and to travel the world.
